
A Georgian citizen, who was illegally detained in the occupied Tskhinvali region on December 5, is free and is in the territory controlled by the central government, the State Security Service reports.
According to the same report, the central government of Georgia regularly raised the issue of the unconditional release of a Georgian citizen from illegal detention in the format of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) and the Geneva international discussions.
"Both the "hotline" mechanism and all relevant instruments at the disposal of the central government were intensively used. International partners were actively involved in the negotiations.
The central government, together with international partners, continues to work actively to release all Georgian citizens illegally detained in the occupied territories," reads the information.
