So-called foreign ministry of occupied Tskhinvali - The political leadership of Georgia,  namely Irakli Kobakhidze, officially recognized Mikheil Saakashvili as the culprit of military aggression - the country must be held responsible for the August 2008 war

The Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, following in the footsteps of the approaches of NATO countries, continues to mislead its own people and the international community when assessing the aggression against South Ossetia – reads a statement released by the so-called foreign ministry of occupied Tskhinvali.

The so-called ministry calls the statement of the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs "on the 18th anniversary of the 2008 Russian-Georgian war", in which it calls on Russia to end the illegal occupation of Georgian territories, illogical.

“We once again point out to the foreign ministry of the neighboring state the inadmissibility of distorting obvious facts,” reads the statement.

In addition, the so-called foreign ministry emphasizes that shortly before this statement, the political leadership of Georgia, namely Irakli Kobakhidze, officially recognized former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili as the perpetrator of military aggression.

“In fact, this was known from the very beginning and South Ossetia has been claiming this for the past 18 years,” reads the statement.

According to the so-called foreign ministry of occupied Tskhinvali, Saakashvili is not the only one to blame.

“As the head of state, he had the mandate to act on behalf of the Georgian state and issue criminal orders, thereby implementing an anti-Ossetian and anti-Abkhazian policy. Therefore, responsibility for the August 2008 war must be borne by the country as the subject of this policy, including representatives of the Saakashvili regime as the implementers of this policy,” the statement says.

According to the so-called ministry, the assessments given in the document of the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs are extremely biased and far from reality.

"For South Ossetia, Russia has been and remains a reliable guarantor of security, and the bilateral relations that are developing are based on a solid legal basis.

We call on official Tbilisi to refrain from attempts to interfere in the affairs of other countries and to take a more constructive position, including when working in the format of international discussions on security issues in the Transcaucasus," reads the statement.
