Representatives of opposition parties are holding a meeting with the OSCE Secretary General, Feridun Sinirlioğlu.

The meeting is being attended by representatives of “Lelo – For Strong Georgia” and the “United National Movement Coalition.”

As Salome Samadashvili, a representative of “Lelo – For Strong Georgia,” told journalists before the meeting, the opposition parties aim to present to the OSCE Secretary General “a full picture of the severe political crisis unfolding in our country.”

“The purpose of this visit is to gain a better understanding of the current situation in the country. The OSCE is an organization that works with all member states, regardless of what kind of regime is in power at a given moment. Naturally, we are here to present the full picture of the severe political crisis in our country and to discuss what the OSCE can do to help restore substance and meaning to the democratic process in Georgia—something that has been taken away by the Russian-style regime currently in power,” said Salome Samadashvili.

According to Gigi Tsereteli, a representative of the “United National Movement Coalition,” the OSCE has a very important agenda regarding Georgia.

“The OSCE has a very significant agenda in relation to Georgia. As a state, Georgia has obligations, including above all free and fair elections, human rights, and democracy. What is happening in Georgia today clearly contradicts these principles, and that will be the focus of our conversation,” noted Gigi Tsereteli.

As for the “Gakharia – For Georgia” party, according to existing information, its representatives have already held a meeting with the OSCE Secretary General earlier today.

For context, representatives of the “Coalition for Change” have announced that they do not plan to meet with the OSCE Secretary General. In their statement, they emphasized that “clarity and consistency are essential in defeating the regime and achieving the historical goals of the Georgian people.”
