Today we face the challenge of having an external enemy and a government within the country that is helping this enemy with its steps, Giga Bokeria, leader of the Federalists, said at Vake Park, where he joined the Maro Makashvili march.

According to Bokeria, the government is taking the steps that once destroyed the Georgian state.

“Today is a day that Georgian citizens will always and surely remember, they will remember the tragedy that occurred in 1921, when, due to various factors, our first republic, a free state, was sacrificed to Russian, Soviet, Stalinist-Leninist aggression.

The memory of people - the cadets, everyone who sacrificed themselves for the freedom of Georgia and our future and, despite failure, created the prerequisites that gave us a chance to restore a free state after decades, after the Soviet hell - obliges us to never allow the same thing to happen again. Today we have a challenge that we have an external enemy and within the country we have a government that helps this enemy with its own steps. It is taking the steps that once led to the destruction of the Georgian state, that is, isolation from the free world. Then we found ourselves isolated due to circumstances, while today our own government is contributing to the creation of such prerequisites that put our state in danger, therefore this march is doubly important today,” Giga Bokeria said.
