Nino Lomjaria: We conveyed to Salome Zurabishvili our wishes, what we want to voice to Western partners  - we must constantly tell them that Russian and autocratic influences are being strengthened in Georgia

We conveyed to Salome Zurabishvili our wishes, what we want to voice to Western partners and what type of assistance Georgian civil society, the Georgian people and the media need today, - Nino Lomjaria, founder of the civil platform Georgian European Orbit, said after a meeting between the fifth President Salome Zurabishvili and non-governmental organizations.

According to Lomjaria, it is important that Salome Zurabishvili be informed of documents and evidence, as she will have important meetings with partners.

"At today's meeting, we talked about the extremely aggravated situation in terms of the human rights situation. We regularly process information on tortured, beaten people, as well as detainees. We study the cases of citizens brought to criminal responsibility and constantly process the list of persons who are involved in the state's terror of citizens. We constantly provide information to international partners, of course, to the President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili. It is important for her to have this information, because she will have important meetings with Western partners - therefore, the President must be informed, speak with documents and evidence about the current situation in Georgia.

As for the format, Salome Zurabishvili stated that she wants to hold thematic meetings with various groups of society. She also promised us that after returning from the Munich Conference, she will submit a report to the society on what was discussed. We conveyed to Salome Zurabishvili our wishes, what we want her to voice to our Western partners and what type of assistance Georgian civil society, the Georgian people and the media need today,” said Nino Lomjaria.

As Lomjaria states, the main thing is for Georgia to be on the international political agenda.

"As you know, the main topic of the Munich Conference will be the issue of Ukraine, and it is very important that Georgia is also on the agenda of our Western partners in this context. We must constantly tell them that Russian and autocratic influences are also being strengthened in Georgia. It is important that assistance be provided to Georgian society by Western partners today, because we are fighting here, resisting, and this will continue, but it is important that support for the Georgian people is on the international agenda. This means the continuation of sanctions against those people who are involved in criminal and political repressions," said Nino Lomjaria.
