If we had wanted to politically persecute someone, we could have terminated the power of 50 opposition MPs about 4-5 months ago, but we did not do it twice, - Irakli Kobakhidze, the chairman of the Georgian Dream in connection with the termination of the mandate of Badri Japaridze.
As he told reporters, the Georgian Dream does not act harshly, but is principled where a particular politician opposes the system.
"According to the legislation, the parliament makes only political and not legal decisions. The court makes legal decisions, while parliament makes political decisions. Parliament does not even have the right to make any legal decisions. Parliament makes political decisions on a legal basis, and that's the case. We had to discuss the expediency of terminating the mandate from a political point of view. This is how the parliament discussed it and made the relevant decision," Kobakhidze said.
He said that this decision is not a political revenge.
Konakhidze is convinced of the victory of the Georgian Dream candidate Irakli Shatakishvili in Rustavi.
