Ukrainian Ambassador: Neither Ukraine nor Georgia has refused to aspire to be in NATO, which is the sovereign choice of our countries

Neither Ukraine nor Georgia has refused to aspire to be in NATO, which is the sovereign choice of our countries. I am convinced that we must be together and closer to each other at such times, because we have no other choice. We may not say this in front of the cameras, but we know what we have to do for each other, - Ambassador of Ukraine to Georgia Igor Dolgov said in his speech at the event marking the Day of Unity of Ukraine.

According to Igor Dolgov, our countries must resist aggression with unity. The Georgian national anthem includes these very words - "Power is in unity." The voice of Georgia is a voice that never hesitates and always stands by Ukraine.

"Unfortunately, we have gathered today in relation to a negative development, but I am glad that we are all together. President Zelensky issued an order two days ago to declare February 16 as the Day of Unity. We must resist any aggression and threats with unity, the Georgian national anthem includes these words - Power is in unity.

Neither we nor Georgia have refused to aspire to be in NATO, which is our sovereign choice. I am sure that such time of ordeal we must be together and closer, we have no other choice. We may not say this in front of the cameras, but we know what we have to do for each other. I am confident that if we continue to be together with our strategic partners in Brussels or other cities, we will win”, said Igor Dolgov.

The reception in the Embassy of Ukraine was attended by Georgian Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani and Vice Speaker Archil Talakvade.
