Foreign Affairs of Georgia: Another propaganda step is being taken by the occupation regime of Abkhazia, which lacks any real implementation

Another propaganda step is being taken by the occupation regime, which lacks any real implementation, - the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Mari Narchemashvili, said when responding to the appeal of the so-called government of occupied Abkhazia to the UN.

"Another propaganda step is being taken by the occupation regime, which lacks any real implementation. Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity are recognized by the international community within its international borders. The international community does not recognize the so-called independence of the occupied territories of Georgia. Occupying regimes have repeatedly attempted similar propaganda moves to strengthen the image of an 'independent' entity, which usually ends in failure," said Mari Narchemashvili.

The so-called government of occupied Abkhazia has appealed to the UN to grant Abkhazia the status of an observer state, - the Russian media reports.

According to their information, so-called Foreign Minister Inal Ardzinba talked about it to the Vice President of the UN World Federation of Associations, Alexei Borisov, during a meeting in Moscow.

“The meeting between Inal Ardzinba and Alexei Borisov took place at the Embassy of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Russian Federation. During the meeting, Ardzinba handed over to Borisov an appeal to the UN Secretary General, in which the Abkhazian Foreign Minister asks observer status for the Republic of Abkhazia, which will allow Abkhazia to participate in the UN General Assembly discussions," reads the statement from the so-called Foreign Ministry.

In the appeal, Inal Ardzinba states that they want "the world to hear the voice of Abkhazia".
