According to MIA, in 2021, official crime increased by 11.35%, facts of giving bribe increased by 11.11%

In 2021, official crime increased by 11.35%. According to official data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 579 registered cases of crime committed by officials were revealed last year, of which 19.52%, 113 cases were opened. In the same period of 2020, 520 cases of this type of crime were registered and 42 of them were opened.

More specifically, the number of registered cases of abuse of office increased by 35.48% in 2021, the number of cases of official indifference increased by 18.52%, and the number of cases of official fraud increased by 69.23%. Cases of giving out bribery increased by 11.11%, while registered cases of accepting bribery decreased by 12.12%.
