The State Security Service issues a statement regarding the actions taken by the Russian occupation forces along the occupation line, in the occupied territories.
According to the statement, the illegal activities along the occupation line complicate the situation on the ground, for which the Russian Federation bears full responsibility.
"We would like to respond to the illegal destructive actions carried out by the Russian occupation forces in the occupied territory in recent days, along the occupation line.
In January of this year, the representatives of the Russian occupation forces carried out illegal so-called borderization and other types of illegal activities in the direction of occupied Tskhinvali region, along the occupation line, in the occupied territory.
The State Security Service identifies each illegal activity in and around the village of Mejvriskhevi in Gori Municipality, as well as in the occupation line along the village of Jariasheni in Gori Municipality.
In connection with this incident, similarly to each case of provocative activity carried out by the Russian occupation forces, a hotline was activated and information was provided to the EUMM in Georgia and the Co-Chairs of the Geneva International Discussions, as well as to our international partners.
In addition, these issues, along with other identified facts of destructive activities of the occupation forces, were strictly raised by the central government on January 20 this year at the 104th meeting of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism in Ergneti.
We would also like to clarify that the rumors that the locals are finding themselves behind the occupation line are not true.
Each case of illegal so-called borderization and illegal activities of the occupation forces is the subject of a severe response from the Georgian central government and our international partners.
Illegal activities along the occupation line damage the security environment on the ground and complicate the daily life of the population. The Russian Federation bears full responsibility for this," the statement said.
